Antiparasitic drugs, such as anthelmintics, antiporozoals and some other agents, are used in the treatment of parasitic infectious diseases. According to WHO reports, 1.5 billion people worldwide are affected by parasitic disease in March 2020. These diseases include gastrointestinal disorders, anaemia, waste and cognitive and development delays in children and other infections. Of the 1.5 billion people affected by parasitic infectious diseases, 24 per cent of people worldwide are infected with soil-borne helminth infections.
